Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar (Packed)
  • 1 package Graham Crackers (About 9 crackers)
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal and cleanup.
  2. Melt Butter and Sugar: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter together with the brown sugar, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Arrange Graham Crackers: Lay the graham crackers in a single even layer on the bottom of your prepared baking pan, making sure to cover the entire bottom surface.
  4. Pour Butter Mixture: Evenly pour the melted butter and brown sugar mixture over the arranged graham crackers, coating them thoroughly.
  5. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbly around the edges.
  6. Add Chocolate Chips: Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the hot toffee layer. Let them stand for a few minutes to melt completely.
  7. Spread Chocolate: Using a spatula, spread the melted chocolate evenly across the entire surface until smooth.
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow the toffee bars to cool completely at room temperature until the chocolate sets. Once cooled, cut into bars and enjoy.

Notes

  • Make sure to line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal of the bars.
  • You can use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet for a sweeter taste.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • These bars can also be refrigerated to speed up the setting process but let them come to room temperature before cutting for best texture.
