Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×9-inch baking dish with a parchment paper sling or butter it to ensure the treats can be removed easily once set. Set aside.
  2. Melt Butter: In a large saucepan, melt 6 tablespoons of salted butter over medium heat until completely melted and slightly bubbling.
  3. Melt Marshmallows: Add the entire 12-ounce bag of jumbo marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir continuously and gently over medium heat until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture is smooth, taking care not to burn.
  4. Add Vanilla: Remove the pan from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to enhance flavor.
  5. Combine Cereals and Mini Marshmallows: Immediately add 4 cups of Rice Krispies cereal, 2 cups of Golden Grahams cereal, and 1 ½ cups of the mini marshmallows to the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir thoroughly until all cereal pieces are evenly coated.
  6. Layer Half Mixture: Transfer half of this cereal mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Then sprinkle half of the chopped Hershey’s chocolate pieces and half of the remaining 1 cup mini marshmallows on top.
  7. Add Remaining Mixture: Add the remaining cereal mixture on top of the first layer and gently press it into the pan to compact slightly. Avoid pressing too firmly to keep the treats light and chewy rather than dense.
  8. Top and Set: Finish by topping the treats with the remaining Hershey’s chocolate pieces and remaining mini marshmallows for a visually appealing and extra gooey top layer.
