Delight in these homemade Peach Pie Cruffins, a perfect fusion of croissants and muffins filled with sweet peach preserves and a hint of cinnamon. These flaky, buttery treats topped with a creamy glaze are ideal for breakfast or an indulgent snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 3 cans refrigerated crescent dough (8 ounces each)

Filling

  • 1 cup peach preserves (organic if possible)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a muffin tin by lining it with paper liners to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a small bowl, mix the peach preserves and ground cinnamon until well combined, creating a sweet and fragrant filling.
  3. Prepare Dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough and press the seams together carefully to form larger rectangular sheets suitable for rolling with the filling.
  4. Spread Filling: Evenly spread the peach-cinnamon mixture over each dough rectangle, ensuring full coverage but leaving a small margin at the edges to prevent overflow during baking.
  5. Form Rolls: Starting at one edge, roll the dough tightly into logs. Then, slice each log in half lengthwise and twist the halves around each other to form spiral shapes.
  6. Bake: Place each twisted roll upright into the prepared muffin tin. Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the cruffins turn golden brown and flaky.
  7. Make Glaze and Serve: While the cruffins bake, whisk the powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream together until smooth to form a glaze. Drizzle this over the warm cruffins just after they come out of the oven for a sweet finishing touch.

Notes

  • Make sure the dough seams are pressed firmly to prevent leaking during baking.
  • For an extra crunch, sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking.
  • Use organic peach preserves for natural sweetness and better flavor.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and flavor experience.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
