Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp butter, plus extra to butter the pan
  • 1 1/2 bags mini marshmallows (15 oz bags)
  • 6 cups Lucky Charms Cereal
  • 1 bag white chocolate chips (12 oz)
  • 4 drops green food coloring

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Use a paper towel to butter the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking pan with extra butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Pour marshmallows over the melted butter and stir to coat evenly.
  3. Microwave Marshmallow Mixture: Heat the marshmallow and butter mixture in the microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat heating for another 30 seconds and stir thoroughly until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Add Cereal: Gradually pour in the Lucky Charms cereal, mixing well each time to ensure the cereal is fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan. Wet your hand with water to prevent sticking and press the mixture evenly into the pan. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour to set.
  6. Cut into Squares: Once set, cut the treats into 20 to 24 evenly sized squares. Place them upside down on wax paper for decorating.
  7. Melt White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave for 45 seconds, stir, then continue melting in 45-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  8. Color the Chocolate: Add 4 drops of green food coloring to the melted white chocolate and stir to combine until you achieve an even green color.
  9. Dip Treats: Dip the bottom of each treat into the green chocolate. Place the treats upside down on wax paper again to allow the chocolate to cool and harden.
  10. Serve: Once the chocolate has set, the treats are ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of green food coloring to achieve your desired chocolate shade.
  • Using wet hands to press the mixture prevents sticking and helps press the treats evenly.
  • You can substitute white chocolate chips with almond bark or candy melts if preferred.
  • Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for 4-5 days.
